How did I go from teaching high school French to having my own preschool? Two words: Willow and Echo. I simply wanted my twin daughters to attend a wonderful, nurturing, stimulating French program. They, along with a handful of other children, made up my very first class in 2009.
The curriculum that I have developed incorporates my Bachelor’s of Education Degree, 20 years of experience teaching French, my Master’s in Language and Literacy, as well as my Degree in Early Childhood Education. My French language program uses elements of an award winning methodology (AIM) with which I train teachers from around the world. Making meaningful connections with others is very important to me, and I take pride in the community of children and parents that is created through La petite école. My preschool is located on the main floor of my family home, and in each class, we have 8 students and 2 teachers. My curriculum was designed with my own girls in mind. There is a balance of structured activities, as well as open-ended play ones, which promote social, emotional, as well as cognitive growth.
I am currently only accepting applications for a preschool afternoon class on Tues/Thurs for Fall 2017. Registration for 2018-2019 will commence in Sept. of 2017 and close by end of January 2018. All classes have a ratio of 8 students and 2 teachers. There are 3 terms in each school year (Fall, Winter, and Spring).
